Myoma of the uterus. Physiotherapy.
Traditionally physiotherapy is an important component in the prevention and treatment of a huge number of diseases. To date, there is virtually no sphere of medical practice, wherever it has been used as an auxiliary or the main method of treatment. In some diseases physiotherapy is often the only method of treatment.
Recently, however, increasingly questions are asked about the presence of contraindications to the use of methods of treatment physiotherapy. Traditionally, most of the questions in respect of gynaecology. So let us talk about it separately.
Myoma of the uterus. Physical therapy contraindicated?
Many women, given the long history of the disease and age, burdened with concomitant diseases. Today we have accumulated extensive experience of application of physical factors to treat women with such problems. Based on the principle of “do no harm” selection of individual programmes for treatment of such patients requires special attention. Range factors physical therapy is so high that is not difficult to choose from them the ones that will not harm the health of women with gynecological problems, including in the presence of endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Medicine is not in place, doctors new devices and techniques. However, the myth that in case of uterine myoma therapy is contraindicated – very firmly keeps its position.
Indeed, deployability treatment, such as ultrasound, phonophoresis, polarized infrared light therapy, Solux, ultraviolet irradiation, inductothermy, laser radiation, paraffin, ozokerite, mud, hot sand treatment, vibrotherapy and massage in the area of small pelvis, lumbosacral spine, is highly undesirable. The same applies to the Solarium, abuse solar baths, bath, sauna. These physical therapy stimulate the production of estrogen, possess a General stimulating effect, increases body temperature locally. Consequently, they are contraindicated in fibroids, endometriosis and fibrocystic breast disease in which the level of hormones and so above normal.
But there are non-thermal factors, which are not only possible but also need to use and uterine fibroids, and endometriosis, and other problems, when it is forbidden to overheat. Reduce the level of estrogen in the body radon and iodine-bromine baths, electrophoresis of iodine. They must be applied in uterine fibroids. As well as in other situations, accompanied by an excess of female hormones. Allowed the fibroids with interferential currents and electrophoresis of zinc on the lower abdomen, magnetic therapy – it has mainly anti-inflammatory effect of EHF and some others. Local effects can be localized both on the upper half of the torso (excluding the Breasts), and in suprapubic, inguinal, lumbar-sacral area or on the thighs.
These methods of physical therapy used after surgery for uterine myoma and endometriosis.
The optimal start date of the course physiotherapy in gynecology is considered to be 5-7th day of the cycle, namely, immediately after the end of menstruation. In the days of ovulation and at the end of the cycle the intensity of the impact is reduced, since the sensitivity to stimuli in these days increased. It is advisable to refrain from physical therapy and during menstruation.
Spa treatment: the Spa resorts with radon (Krasnogorsk, Pyatigorsk, Ust-Kut and Sochi, Khmelnik) and bromine (Yeisk, Nalchik, Khadyzhensk, Ust – Kachka) waters.
Absolute contraindications to physical therapy today remain only a malignant tumor, hyperthyroidism, bleeding of unknown origin and psychiatric disorders. In gynecology: the signs of dysplasia smears, leukoplakia, human papillomavirus infection and suspected cancer until the biopsy results. In all other cases, it is possible to select methods individually for each patient. It is desirable to carry out dynamic colposcopy in the middle and the end of treatment to exclude iatrogenic action of physical factor and evaluation of its positive effects on pathology.
You should always remember the principle of cancer awareness.
