Aldo Ferrara, associate Professor at the University of Naples in Italy found that daily consumption of 40 grams of olive oil helps to reduce medication dosage, blood pressure lowering in hypertensive patients by about 50 %.

Oregano: oregano contains carvacrol compound which helps to lower your blood pressure. In a study conducted on animals, scientists from the University of Eskisehir Osmangazi in Turkey, found that carvacrol causes the reduction in heart rate, normalizes blood pressure , and systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Hawthorn: hawthorn is traditionally used to treat high blood pressure. In a randomized study conducted in reading, UK, 79 patients with diabetes mellitus of the 2nd type took 1200 mg of hawthorn extract and the other group took medication for high blood pressure. The results showed that patients who took hawthorn, at the end of 16 weeks decreased the level of secondary diastolic blood pressure.

Cardamom: in a study published in Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics . there were 20 people who was first diagnosed with primary hypertension. During the research they took 3 grams of powder daily for 3 months. At the end of this period, all the subjects felt the improvement without any side effects. In addition, the subjects significantly decreased blood pressure and improved antioxidant status.

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect of some spices and herbs may improve overall health. Herbs have low calorie content increase the medicinal value of food and reduce blood pressure. Add them to soups, salads, fish, meat, vegetable dishes and stay healthy.
